What is your favorite number? Have you ever given this question any thought? I know at first it might sound a bit odd, but your favorite number might have a very special message for you. Even though it may have nothing to do with your core numbers, it carries special significance. It can be a single digit, a double digit or a longer number. But most importantly, it should really speak and appeal to you.
Finding Your Favorite Number
Some of you probably have a favorite number. I know I have. Some of you don’t. Perhaps this whole topic of numerology is completely new to you. But the most important thing is that when you search for such a number, it should be uncontrived and unmanipulated. If you already know your core numbers and choose deliberately to make one of them your favorite, that is not real. Before I started studying numerology, I had a mysterious love for the number 27. I just found it deeply beautiful. Later on as I became a numerologist, I discovered to my total surprise that it is my Expression Number! But that was truly unmanipulated, you see? A favorite number is something that calls you, and not something you try to make up because of ulterior motives.
It’s important not to force-find a number! If you don’t have any, that’s perfect. Let it be so. But if such a number arises in your awareness, let it reveal itself to you and listen to it. Feel its texture. What does it make you feel? What emotions does it evoke in you? Just observe. A true favorite number is not something that comes and goes that quickly. It may indeed change over time, but will usually stay for quite a while. A few years usually.
What is Your Favorite Number trying to Tell You
Assuming you know what your favorite number is, it’s time to know why it showed up in your life. Such a powerful number usually arises from the depth of your subconscious, your heart, your soul. It is both a message and a pointer. It wants you to open up to and merge with a particular quality of life. In my case, the 27, which ends up being a 9 –> 2+7 = 9, represented a deep quality of the Universal Heart, the most pure and beautiful spiritual aspiration to attain true wisdom in service of all. It served (and still does) as a pointer, a north star, to the universal heart of compassion, love and wisdom for the benefit of all. A form of reminder for what a complete spiritual life looks like. Your favorite number can be literally any number: 4, 1, 7, 12, 22, 55, 103…and so on. There’s no rule here. It is very personal and no one can tell you what meaning it has for you.
Two people can have the same favorite number, but it will mean something completely different. I recommend taking your time to truly sense into it, meditate and contemplate on it. Not in any obsessive way, as if numbers were the be all end all. They aren’t. But meditate on it with lightness, curiosity and openness. Try to feel what is it telling you. Then go read about it from a solid authority in Numerology. I don’t recommend reading from sources that speak of Angel Numbers, because they tend to generalize number messages. And as I already explained – this one is personal to you. You can also book a professional numerology reading to analyze this with an expert. As for a good source, I can recommend Dan Millman’s book: The Life You Were Born To Live.
How to Work with Your Favorite Number
Now that you know what your favorite number is and you’ve also hopefully read about it and felt into it, it’s time to give you some extra tips. I want you to examine your number as a compound number and as a single digit. If it’s already a single digit such as 5 or 6, then the process is simpler and more straightforward. However, if your number is 17, I would recommend also contemplating on the single digit of 8 –> 1+7 = 8. Lastly, I would also look at the compound digit as a process. In the case of 17, I would try to contemplate on the meaning of 1 moving into 7 or the dance between the two. So to summarize, you want to examine 3 elements in your favorite number:
- The Compound Digit (if it has one)
- The Single Digit (the subtotal of the compound digit)
- The Compound digit as a Process
For example, 17 as such might give you a feeling of sharpness, sexiness and strength. The single digit – 8, might feel like an encouragement to step up your game. And finally, the 1-7 as a process might feel like trusting your gut (1) and fearlessly (1) moving into your own wisdom (7). Then I would try to blend these insights into one coherent whole. Perhaps the 17 is calling you to connect to the powerful, sexy and sharp part of you that trusts itself and can fearlessly trust its own wisdom and express it in the world. Again, working with your favorite number is a very personal process, but I hope this gives you a feeling for how to unpack its meaning for you.
Allow The Number to Change as You Change
Finally, I want to remind you that you are an evolving individual. Nothing is static in this life. As such, also your favorite number may change. It’s not imperative, but it can certainly happen. So remain open and don’t over identify with any number. That’s what I meant earlier, when I said “don’t get obsessive” with the whole thing. I sometimes see people substituting real life with numerology. Abdicating all their power to it. That’s unhealthy. Allow the numbers to come as friends and supporters along your path. Let them help you grow, discover and evolve with joy and curiosity. At one point number 4 may be your favorite number, encouraging you to enjoy your roots and build a solid physical foundation. Then, as you grow, suddenly it may change to 9. Your soul may want to open up to wisdom and expand its horizons. Be open. Keep exploring.
